In order that we might travel back in time, a special ceremony is performed to awaken Cleopatra from her tomb. With Cleopatra's help we find ourselves in the old kingdom awaiting the arrival of Pharaoh Chephren in his boat, along the river Nile. The villagers are very busy preparing gifts, entertainment and a feast in his honour.
Our journey then takes us to the New Kingdom where we see and hear all about the young Pharaoh Tutankhamun. We are introduced to some of the gods and learn how important they are to our way of life.
Our journey ends listening to Cleopatra discussing her turbulent life and how the Pharaohs came to the end of their reign in Egypt.
During this workshop the children are involved in the following activities, making necklaces, mummifying a body, making gift papyrus boats, preparing food and entertainment. Every child gets the chance to dress up and play a role.

What a fantastic day. Ancient Egypt was brought alive in front of our very eyes. A brilliant interactive experience for all the children.
