For Junior schools we offer an introduction to Shakespeare, which gently leads the students through a journey that eventually gives them confidence to join in and have some fun performing a play. With face masks and humour this workshop helps to demistyfy The Bard and bring Shakespeare to the masses. The students will soon learn that he wrote comedies, horror and stories full mischief and sub plots.
For our older students we offer workshops on most of his plays which are lead by different actors, directors, and workshop leaders skilled in that particular play. Typically we explore the themes, characterisation and plots of the play. We can, if requested tailor make a workshop to suit the needs of your particular students.
We also offer the students the opportunity to direct professional actors through a scene of their choosing for their GCSE work. This allows the students to experiment with a scene in many diverse ways and is popular with both students and teachers.
The overall aim is to show that Shakespeare is not to be feared and loathed by some students, but to be acted out, understood and enjoyed by all.
